    So in short if the occupants of the structure are presumed hostile I would recommend door charges EVERY time over a battering ram or door kick. if the occupants are KNOWN hostile I would reccomend a wall charge (everyone expects you to go in through the door)

  2. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    The disadvantages of explosives is the safety of the people inside the building and the distance that the entry team must take from the door (only a couple feet more than with a battering ram or door kick). The biggest problem is that overpressure is magnified by small spaces, in a space such as that killdozer the man’s pancreas almost certainly would have been turned into pancreas puree, that can be either good or bad depending on the situation.

  3. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    The organization that I’m with almost never uses battering rams or door kicks when explosives are available (and they always are :) ) the reason for this is that we practice what’s called “hard knocks” much more than the police, the advantages of explosives are weight, speed, surprise and confusion, overpressure is a powerful force, and you will be what the fucking when we come through the door, as opposed to pointing a gun at it after the third battering ram hit.

  4. metalwreck450 says:

    @bradmanthethird
    Bullshit. I know that door breachers can’t kill people, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are explosives. There’s no way you would suggest door breachers when more conventional methods are available if you had any formal training. Even I haven’t had formal training, and I know more than you. So I call BULLSHIT.

  5. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    umm, im trained as an explosive breacher, so i think i know what can do what, and i can tell you that the ammount of boom required to open most conventional doors could be held at arms length and produce non-fatal injuries. So how you’re going to take out hundreds of people with a door charge I’d like to see, maybe you have a higher level of expertise then me. and the training is not that hard to get, i bet we could train police explosive breachers in less than a month.

  6. metalwreck450 says:

    @bradmanthethird
    Herp derp, explosives can take out hundreds of people with little evidence left behind, and you need training to handle and store them. I think you should read the laws about this, because you obviously have no clue.

  7. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    like the licenses that they need to carry weapons? just because you work for the government doesn’t mean you can carry a handgun right?

  8. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    @bradmanthethird
    Just because they work for? the government doesn’t mean that they now can now carry and handle explosives. You NEED a license for that,

    you mean like the licences that they need for the weapons that they carry? oh wait, they’re cops, they just need training not licences.

  9. metalwreck450 says:

    @bradmanthethird
    Just because they work for the government doesn’t mean that they now can now carry and handle explosives. You NEED a license for that, you can’t just carry some around with you. I’m saying either way they can’t do it, and you’re going HERP DERP NOOOO THEY CAN HURRR.

  10. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    now you’re borderline trolling. if you want to suggest that cops stealing breaching explosives could be an issue then i say that they could just as easily make them and you’re like OH, WELL, THAT COULD COST THEM THEIR JOBS. you’ve defeated your own point, you can’t have it both ways.

    you can’t have: but if you give every half-assed cop explosives he can sometimes sneak them out

    and also have: Because making illegal explosives won’t cost them their jobs or? anything…

  11. metalwreck450 says:

    @bradmanthethird
    Because making illegal explosives won’t cost them their jobs or anything…

  12. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    Well, if the cops want explosives I’ll tell them right now. Deisel fuel, industrial fertilizer, match powder to light, google knows the mixtures. So theft is not an issue. Cost is also not really an issue, the cost of giving small police departments an explosive breaching kit would be less than the cost of putting gas in their car for a day. The only real issue is training, but even then the army can train an explosive breacher in about 3 weeks. It’s not complicated stuff.

  13. 328DLCR says:

    sad that he killed himself

  14. metalwreck450 says:

    @bradmanthethird
    Well it’s obviously going to be more effective, but if you give every half-assed cop explosives he can sometimes sneak them out, or they could get stolen, etc. You’re speaking as if it’s guaranteed that the explosives will be used on doors. Plus it’s waaay cheaper to give the thousands of cops out there battering rams that can be reused, rather than supply them each with $100+ explosives every time they want to open a door. You obviously have no conception of how it works.

    RIP Marvin

  18. bradmanthethird says:

    @metalwreck450

    speaking from experience explosive breaching is much MUCH more effective than a battering ram under the best of conditons. and at a tiny fraction of the weight.

  19. metalwreck450 says:

    @mastermalpass
    Don’t you know how the goverment works? They can’t just say “ohaithar we need our police officers to borrow your anti tank javelins or plastic explosives” FUCK NO they have to fill out dozens of forms. It was classified as a tank, but REMEMBER he never killed anyone. The only damage that was even made was to insurance companies.

  20. mastermalpass says:

    @metalwreck450 If it’s a small town then the police and SWAT probably aren’t even based there, so what has that got to do with how the dozer’s taken down? Also, if the SWAT doesn’t have the equipment, nearest military bases will have the equipment, and trained people to use it.

    The Dozer is classed as a Tank, and they had suspicions of the guy being armed with a machine gun. Using the military could be advised in a situation like this.

  21. metalwreck450 says:

    @mastermalpass
    This isn’t COD, and it’s a small town, so why the fuck would they need explosives? A battering ram will open doors much the same, so they would never have needed explosives.

    Define free market. Because govenrment regulation of corporations is necessary to actually sustain a free market. Perfect laissez-faire ends with a monopoly/oligopoly and a completely locked market on top of a gigantic divide between poor and rich and all the social friction such a thing causes.
